Lucas knew he never wanted to take over his father's office supply store, nor did he ever think of himself as a businessman.
He failed repeatedly in his business ventures and was convinced that going to film school would never lead him to a career opportunity.
He doubted himself constantly and wondered if he should do the 'smart thing' and go get a job.
And yet he had to keep going... because he loved making movies.
He had to find a way to continue even though all he saw was failure around him.
"My first six years in the business were hopeless. There are a lot of times when you sit and you say 'Why am I doing this? I'll never make it. It's just not going to happen. I should go out and get a real job and try to survive'."
George Lucas
