This section offers several postures in a basic yoga sequence. You can practice all of these poses in sequence or leave some poses out of the practice. If you choose to practice fewer poses, practice the chosen postures in the order that they appear in this section.
I recommend practicing with intention. This gives purpose and direction to the time spent on the mat. For example, you might choose to focus on grounding the hands and feet through each pose in a chosen sequence, observing the effect this focus has on each posture.
Focusing the time and effort spent on your mat will greatly increase your strength and stability while cultivating a deeper relationship between the breath, body, and mind.
Remember, the primary focus for a yoga practice is always the breath. Allow the breath to lead you step by step into the pose AND out of the pose. Try not to rush this process.
As the dearly departed K. Pattabhi Jois said, "Do your practice
and all is coming."
