Requirements

The Ghost installation and setup process may require a little more time than other major blogging platforms (like Wordpress), but the next section of this guide will take you through it step-by-step in, what'd I found to be the simplest possible.

If you're currently hosting a blog or website on a shared hosting plan with companies such as GoDaddy, Bluehost or Dreamhost, you're probably not going to be able to run Ghost on your server.

The best option is probably a VPS - or virtual private server - and Ghost also has pre-configured images for a number of other VPS companies. We're going to use Digital Ocean, a pretty cool New York based VPS company.
