Summary: This US-focused report articulates local economic development opportunities associated with Green Infrastructure (GI) investments. It suggests how practitioners can support economic opportunity for local and/or historically disadvantaged communities. Such opportunities include greater representation amongst the GI labor force and contracting firms' ownership, as well as by improving prospects for career advancement and job quality. The report also provides in depth case studies from New York City and Portland, Oregon, as well as examples from Philadelphia.
