There are no mandatory mediations in Manitoba. If the parties are in agreement, they can request a Judicially Assisted Dispute Resolution, which is a mediation convened by a Judge. These have typically been quite successful. Parties can also hire private mediators, but this is relatively uncommon. Most settlements are achieved through direct negotiations of counsel.
