Trials are heard before a Judge and, if a jury notice was filed, a jury of six members of the public. A decision does not have to be unanimous; it can be rendered with an agreement of five out of the six jurors agreeing. Appeals are heard by the Ontario Court of Appeal sitting in Toronto.
