This is a starter list to build some instant backlinks to your site. It will require some time and effort, but the links will go a long way for developing some long term traffic.

What I recommend doing is setting up a marketing email account that you can use for all of your logins, directory submissions, and press releases. That will be your master account to avoid getting any spam. Don't create an alias or have it forward to your email account, only because you really don't want to get blasted with any kind of newsletters or spam one of the sites might generate.

There are hundreds of other free links you can build for your site along with directory submissions, social bookmarking sites, etc.. And I plan on detailing these next steps in the advanced play. In the meantime, focus on these sites and build up the link juice.
