Clean Air Partnership (CAP) is a charitable environmental organization that works with municipalities and their partners to support efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) and air pollution, increase resiliency to extreme weather, and make advancements towards a low carbon economy.
Clean Air Council (CAC), a project of CAP, is Canada's largest peer-to-peer municipal climate action network.
The building sector is generating over 30 percent of Canada's GHG emissions and it is a significant source of GHG emissions in most municipalities. Consequently, a large number of municipalities across Ontario are looking to become more engaged in actions to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions from new and existing buildings while making buildings more resilient to power disruptions and encourage the use of renewable and district energy.
We are working collectively across the CAC network on the development and implementation of Low Carbon Building strategies. We do this through a series of workshops with municipal staff and stakeholders on main policies, such as Green Development Standards, to support this transition.
We've created this one-stop-shop of resources that can support the development of Municipal Low Carbon Building strategies and provide links to existing municipal strategies across Canada. We will continue to update this one-stop-shop with new resources. If you have any suggestions for resources that you have found useful and think would be of value to others, please send an email to Desi Stefanova at DStefanova@cleanairpartnership.org
