New Homes

  • New homes are now constructed with a radon mitigation pipe that needs to be completely sealed and is used for radon testing and can be used to vent radon gas safely away from the home
  • For this reason, codes require the floors on ground to be sealed to prevent the entrance of soil gases. This can be done in various ways including sealed vapour barrier membranes, other impermeable membranes, or by applying a layer of closed cell spray-in-place foam.
