The Truth

We are not designed to drink alcohol.

There may have be some nutrition in beer for example, 50 years ago but now to give it the flavour and look that we know it has today takes a variety of chemicals. Americans consume more the 37 gallons of alcoholic beverages per person each year! That equates to about 11.4 cups per day per person. And if you're not the one drinking it then you know someone around the corner who is drinking 74 gallons of alcohol a year!

Further more, alcohol is known to actually not only disrupt the liver's ability to produce energy (hence most people feeling lethargic a lot of the time). It many also drastically affect blood sugar level leading to hypoglycemia-rise in your blood sugar making your eyes bigger than your stomach making you eat more than you normally would have which can results in weight gain!

Ever feel just starving after a night out drinking or ever notice that at restaurants they serve you drinks first and then the menu for food?Lastly, when alcohol is consumed near or at mealtimes, it acts as a blocking agent not allowing good minerals and vitamins into your system . Rather the empty calories from the alcohol all take it's place preventing you from receiving good nutrients from the potentially good food you are eating anyway! So, what are we saying? Don't drink? That would be hypercritical of us.

But, if you're having a hard time losing weight and you feel as if you are doing everything else right, ask yourself this; how much am I drinking each week and what would happen if I changed that habit too?
