Customise your public
profile URL. You will thank us later.
Do you remember when your URL was just some numbers and
letters? It didn't look very presentable, especially when you had
to share it. But not to dwell on the past: LinkedIn allows you to
change your URL according to your needs. Of course, you have
considered putting your name. That's a good start, but don't limit
yourself there. Yes, you are unique, but your name might not be.
Don't use obscure numbers or acronyms to differentiate your URL. It
works for email addresses, but not for a vanity URL.
Here is where you can make your URL unique and special, like
you: choose words that relate to your business or profession. Word
of advice: As tempting as it may seem, don't put the name of the
company (or your company) in your URL. You might choose to work
somewhere else later or create a different company. You don't want
to go through the hassle of changing your URL again. After all,
what's in a name?
