FortisBC’s Dual Fuel Heating System Rebate - Effective May 1, 2025

FortisBC's dual fuel heating system rebate - Effective May 1, 2025

Since FortisBC launched their dual fuel heating system rebates for residential and income-qualified customers, participation has been higher than anticipated.FortisBC is pleased to see so many customers apply for this rebate, helping make homes more energy efficient-this is the goal of their rebate programs. To ensure FortisBC can continue to provide rebates for residential dual fuel systems, there are changes to both residential and income-qualified rebates effective May 1, 2025.Program changes effective May 1, 2025:

  • The residential dual fuel rebate amount will change from $10,000 to $5,000.
  • The $15,000 income-qualified dual fuel rebate will no longer be available for the remainder of 2025. This program is fully subscribed for the year.
  • Residential customers may still qualify for the $10,000 rebate and income-qualified customers may still qualify for the $15,000 rebate if they meet specific eligibility requirements based on their invoice dates:
    • The customer completes the installation of their dual fuel system and has an invoice dated on or before April 30, 2025:
      • Applications must be submitted within six months of the invoice date.
      • The submitted date of the digital commissioning sheet in the mobile app must be on or before April 30, 2025.
    • The customer received a quote and paid a deposit on or before April 30, 2025. Installation of their dual fuel system is completed, and their invoice is dated between May 1 and May 31, 2025:
      • They must have a quote dated on or before April 30, 2025.
      • They must provide proof of a paid deposit on or before April 30, 2025.
      • The submitted date of the digital commissioning sheet in the mobile app and the invoice date must be on or before May 31, 2025.
      • The application must be submitted within six months of the invoice date.
      • If the installation is completed after May 31, 2025, and they meet the other eligibility requirements, they may receive a $5,000 rebate.
  • Any residential customers who complete their installs on or after May 1, 2025, and do not have a quote and deposit paid by April 30, 2025, will be eligible only for the $5,000 rebate provided all other eligibility requirements are met.
