Getting Started With PageCloud

Welcome to PageCloud! In order to help you create a great website, we've assembled a set of instructions and tutorials to help you with the basics. This help page will walk you through the steps to create a basic website using PageCloud.

The first stop on your PageCloud journey will be the Dashboard. This is an administrative page where you can manage your PageCloud services such as sites, personal page and your profile. Here is an orientation video for the dashboard.

Creating Your Site

The PageCloud service combines website creation and hosting which means everything you create is published live on the web immediately with no additional services required. It is important to remember that PageCloud is not a standalone website editor that you can use to directly edit your existing website. You would need to either import your existing site's pages to PageCloud or you can start building your website from scratch using PageCloud. Either way, your first step will be to create a PageCloud site.

Importing Your Existing Site

The next step is to start adding content to your site. In addition to starting fresh or from one of our prebuilt canvases, PageCloud also offers a unique feature that allows you to import your existing website's pages into PageCloud for editing and hosting. Note that it is not possible to use PageCloud to directly edit your existing site - you have to import it first and your existing site will remain untouched. Import Page works on a page by page basis and you have to import each page of your site separately. The import page tool will typically do a great job at bringing over the design layout of your existing pages in order to serve as an aesthetic starting point. Functionality can then be added in after.

Editing Your Site

Once you've created a site, the next step is to start editing it. From the dashboard simply click the icon of the site you want to edit. Next you will have the option of starting your first page from a blank canvas or using one of the prebuilt canvases. Whichever option you choose, you will be transferred to the PageCloud editor where you can edit your page. To get started with the editor, check out our orientation tutorial here

Basic editing

To get the feel of the PageCloud editor it's useful to try some simple things like adding a shape or 2 as well as some text. Here is a short video to show you how to do that:
