TECTERRA offers a variety of investment and grant programs focused on the geomatics, geolocation & mobile sectors.

It's programs enable Canadian companies to bring innovative geomatics solutions to market and investments help to reduce risk and support companies through each phase of product development and commercialization.

Amount of Funding Dispersed:

• TECTERRA received $39.3M in 2009, and has used $26M so far. Their funding programs provide between $50K to $500K for prototyping, pilot projects and commercializing innovative tech.

• TECTERRA has led 34 Industry Commercialization Projects, filed 7 patents (with 33 underway) and as a result, impacted about $195M+ of downstream revenue.

Commercialization Support Services (CSS) Program

The CSS program provides funding to help companies implement best-practice techniques in the development, management and growth of their business. This includes:

• strategic planning
• human resources management
• go-to-market strategies
• communications and branding
• business plan development and support
• sales mentorship strategy development and support
• intellectual property management.

Funding Amount

• Up to $50K per applicant per year
• 75% of funds are provided as a non-repayable grant. The remaining 25% is to be paid back upon project completion.
• Funding is applied towards eligible costs and is paid directly to Approved Service Providers (ASPs). ASPs are either referred by TECTERRA or identified by the applicant and approved for the program.

Who's Eligible?

• Canadian SME's and individual entrepreneurs, including startups focused on geomatics solutions.
• Companies focused on integrated resource management (IRM) technology projects. Other sectors are also considered.
