About BCIP
BCIP (formerly CICP) helps entrepreneurs by testing innovative
goods and services within the federal government before taking them
to market.
BCIP targets innovative projects in:
- Environment
- Safety and security
- Health
- Enabling technologies such as Information and Communications
Technologies (ICTs), Information Management (IM), Nanotechnologies
and Biotechnologies
- Military
In 2012, $95M was added to the program and it was spread out
over 3 years.
Who's Eligible?
Any Canadian organization, university, private company,
not-for-profit organization or individual can submit a
proposal.
How to Apply?
- The Call for Proposals is placed on the Government Electronic
Tendering System (GETS) and is available through the Tenders
mini-site.
- Before preparing a proposal submission, applicants must
register on the Supplier Registration Information (SRI) system
to obtain a Procurement Business Number (PBN). This is a mandatory
requirement to do business with the federal government.
