Most emergencies, big or small, hit a neighbourhood unevenly. The person living alone, the family without a car, the senior who depends on a medical device - they often face more risk than the rest of us, but rarely ask for help directly.

The good news is that you do not need to be a first responder to make a real difference. Your job is to notice, check in respectfully, and connect people to help when it's needed.

This guide will help you recognize who might need extra support, know what to ask, and respond safely when you're asking yourself:

"Could I help a neighbour right now?"
