This sections outlines the HPCN registration process for the Battery & Solar sector. This information is provided to help you decide if HPCN registration is right for you.

Who can join the HPCN for Solar & Battery?

Companies that directly employee installers of residential Solar and/or Battery systems in British Columbia are a good fit for the Solar & Battery sector. Any such company wanting to offer their customers access to the BC Hydro self-generation program and associated rebates will need to join the HPCN; for more information on this requirement, read the Solar & Battery sector FAQs.

Steps to Complete your Registration

You will need to complete the following steps to complete your HPCN registration. You are not considered an HPCN member until you complete all of the following:

Successful applicants that finish the registration process will gain access to membership benefits, such as rebate eligibility and being listed on the public search tool, and will be subject to ongoing Contractor Management.

Already registered with the HPCN for another sector? Log-in to your existing HPCN profile and click on "Enroll in a new Sector" to add the Solar & Battery sector and start your registration process for the new sector.

Costs

There is no fee to participate in the HPCN but the mandatory qualifications and requirements may come with a cost. For the Solar & Battery sector, there are currently no training costs. There may be costs associated with acquiring the required business documentation such as business licenses.

NOTES

• How many employee(s), and which employee(s), need to take the training? At least one lead installer per crew must complete the training. Your registration will not be reviewed by HPCN staff until at least one person has completed the required training. It is strongly recommended that anyone involved in the rebate application process complete the rebate training; this may become a requirement in the future.

• The same employee must complete all of the required training. You cannot split training between employees.
